1. What you're agreeing toIf you tick the consent box, you're allowing me to use short excerpts from the video reading I make for you as promotional material.
You are agreeing to this and nothing else. Ticking the box does not sign you up to a mailing list, allow me to share your information with anyone, or give me any rights over your reading beyond what's written here.
2. What I will and won't show
I may use:
Short clips of me speaking to camera
Clips where I explain how a card or a position in the energy map works in general terms
Footage of an energy map on screen with all identifying details removed
I will never show:
Your name
Your date of birth, or any part of it
Your email address, location, or any contact details
Your questions in your own words
Any detail specific enough that someone who knows you could work out it's you
Anything about your health, your beliefs, your sexuality, your finances, your family, or your relationships (If I'm unsure whether a clip crosses it, I won't use the clip).
3. GDPR
(UK GDPR Article 4(11) and Article 7)
Some categories of information get extra protection under UK GDPR data protection law. The list is narrower than most people assume: health, sex life, sexual orientation, racial or ethnic origin, religious or philosophical beliefs, political opinions, trade union membership, and genetic or biometric data. If a clip is genuinely anonymous, meaning nobody could work out who it is, none of that applies, because data protection law only governs information about identifiable people.
I won't publish any clip touching on identifiable data.
4. Where clips might appear
Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, Threads, LinkedIn, my website at zaccarpenter.com, and my email newsletter.
Clips will not be sold, licensed to third parties, or used in paid advertising without asking you again.
5. How long this lasts
Consent lasts two years from the date you give it.
During those two years you can withdraw whenever you like, for any reason, without explaining yourself. Section 6 covers how.
After two years the window closes. Anything I'm already using stays up, and I won't be able to action removal requests made after that point considering two years is a long time to change your mind.
6. Changing your mind
Email hello@zaccarpenter.com and say you'd like to withdraw consent. You don't need to give a reason, you won't be asked to justify it, and it won't affect anything else between us.
Once you withdraw:
I'll stop using the footage immediately
I'll remove clips from anything I control, meaning my website and my newsletter archive, within 14 days
I'll delete posts from my own social media accounts within 14 days
Once something has been posted publicly, other people can save it, repost it, or screenshot it, and platforms keep their own copies on their own timescales. I can take down what I've posted. I can't guarantee every copy everywhere disappears, and nobody who tells you otherwise is being straight with you. Please factor that in before you tick the box rather than afterwards.
7. Your rights
You can ask me to show you what I hold about you, correct it, delete it, or restrict what I do with it. Email hello@zaccarpenter.com and I'll respond within one month.
If you're unhappy with how I've handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
I keep your date of birth, your questions and your context for twelve months after delivery, and your email address for the same period so I can deal with any problems. Your finished video stays with me for 30 days in case something goes wrong at my end. After that it's deleted, which is why the terms say I can't resend it. If you've given permission for clips, I keep a record of that consent for seven years so there's proof of what you agreed to and when.
Your reading is never used to train any AI system.
8. Under 18s
I don't read for anyone under 18, and this consent can't be given by a minor.
